The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has slapped a closure notice on popular Bandra restaurant Papa Pancho Da Dhaba after a customer complained of finding a dead rat in his food on August 13. The police have already arrested two cooks and the manager of the restaurant.
Shailesh Adhav, Joint Commissioner (FDA), confirmed the development to The Indian Express. “Following due procedure, we have served a notice to the hotel, asking it to shut down,” he said.
FDA sources said that after seeing news reports about the Sunday incident, FDA officers visited the popular restaurant and collected samples of the chicken dish in question and sent it for forensic examination. “After the forensic examination report comes, the department will decide on further course of action,” Adhav added.
