An official said the inspection was carried out following complaints aboutsubstandard food in Digha's hotels and restaurants. District food safety officials inspected 25-odd prominent hotels. Kitchens at several places were found with poor hygiene standards and 13 were found storing stale and spoilt food. The inspection team, apart from slapping legal notices on around seven establishments, directed all to improve their hygiene standards and ensure wholesome food services in a week.
