Nutraceuticals, also known as functional foods, are largely nutritional supplements containing mostly vitamin C and D, and Zinc.
India may soon have mandatory standards for nutritional supplements since the Food Safety Standards Authority of India is working on benchmarks, even as demand for nutraceuticals increases rapidly in the country, according to people familiar with the matter.
Acting on a tip-off on spurious milk-based products, food safety team conducted a raid at Maa Bhawani Dairy Farm on Pagaria Stand in Unhel town.
