The engagement dinner was hosted by a tribal family in the village and around 60 guests were invited. Of all, around 55% i.e. 33 individuals fell sick. Reports suggest that the puri and vegetable served in the feast had gone bad. Officials said that the majority of patients' conditions remain stable, two individuals are in critical condition. Both have been referred to the Narmadapuram District Hospital for specialized care. Authorities at the Makhannagar Community Health Center assured the public that the remaining patients under their care are in stable condition
